The principle of “Measure Twice – Cut Once – Admire Your Work” is important to apply when working on Home Savings. The phrase “Measure Twice, Cut Once” originates from traditional craftsmanship fields like carpentry and tailoring, where accuracy is crucial and materials are valuable. It emphasizes the importance of double-checking measurements before making a cut, to avoid costly mistakes. This saying, though not traced to a specific origin, is a metaphor for careful planning and thoroughness, extending its wisdom beyond its practical use in trades to various aspects of life.
My father and grandfather often used this saying. Both were smart men and very handy! They liked to use this phrase with me and my two brothers, but they added on “Admire Your Work”. They were way ahead of todays “mindfullness” movement. At the end of each task or day take a moment to and have pride in the result’s of your efforts. Highlight the importance of personal achievement and foster a sense of satisfaction and accomplisment.
I use this phrase throughout my posts. It’s a simple reminder to enjoy the ride! This is an important part when supporting your Extended Family!
